SWORN IN–Michael Doiron is pictured being sworn in as the new treasurer for the City of Red Bud by City Clerk Joanne Cowell at Monday night’s Red Bud City Council meeting.
A new city treasurer was sworn in at Monday night’s Red Bud City Council meeting.
Marcia Esker had recently resigned from the position, and Mayor Susan Harbaugh appointed Michael Doiron as the city’s interim treasurer. The rest of the council approved of the appointment.
While Esker was not in attendance at the meeting, Harbaugh wanted to take a moment to recognize all that Esker had done for the city.
Esker served as the city’s treasurer for over 18 years, from May 2003 to Sept. 2021, having been elected to office five times (2003, 2007, 2011, 2015 and 2019). She also served under four mayors – John Horrell, Ken Mueller, Tim Lowry and Harbaugh.
