Roscow recognized at council meeting

SPECIAL PRESENTATION–At Monday night’s council meeting, Samuel Roscow was presented with an IMUA scholarship. Pictured at the presentation are: Ellen Woehrmann, Roscow and Josh Eckart.

Some special recognitions were made at Monday night’s Red Bud City Council meeting.

The first was to Samuel Roscow, who is one of the recipients of this year’s Illinois Municipal Utilities Association (IMUA) scholarships.

City Superintendent Josh Eckart noted that each year IMUA offers a scholarship for high school seniors. Seniors apply for the scholarship and submit an essay. These essays (after any identifying information is redacted) are reviewed by a panel, who then selects four winners.

Normally, it is a $1,000 scholarship, however this year in celebration of the 25th anniversary of the scholarship program, the scholarships this year were $2,500 each.
