At the May 1 Red Bud City Council meeting, the council approved of some pay raises, knowing there was a possibility that the Fraternal Order of Police union could file a grievance.
The council had approved of a 6.5 percent raise for all city employees, which was not disputed. However, what was disputed was the additional raise for the utility office clerk and the utility billing clerk.
