Last week, on Tuesday, May 9, Red Bud resident Raymond Rogers traveled to Washington, D.C. with the Veterans Honor Flight of Southern Illinois based out of Marion.
Rogers is a retired United States Air Force master sergeant, having served from 1955-1975, and is a Vietnam veteran.
This flight took 87 veterans to D.C. along with their guardians. During the trip, participating veterans were the guests of honor at several memorials in Washington as well as Arlington National Cemetery.
