Jackson wins national wrestling titles

Danny Jackson

Not too many people can say they are a national champion, especially when they are only a freshman in high school. However, Danny Jackson of Red Bud now has two national wrestling titles.

Jackson at the age of 15 has already made quite the name for himself as a wrestler.

After building a strong foundation with the Southern Illinois Bulldogs Wrestling Club under Head Coach Butch Schloemann, and winning numerous awards, he quickly found success wrestling for Red Bud High School this year.

He finished out the high school season in February taking third place in the 190 pound weight class in the Illinois High School Association’s 1A school division. Jackson’s only loss that tournament was to the eventual state champion.
