Commissioners heard COVID update

It was a short meeting on Friday, Oct. 29 for the Randolph County Board of Commissioners, with the biggest topic of discussion being a COVID-19 update.

“The case count is down and that’s great,” reported Randolph County Health Department Administrator Angela Oathout. She also noted that the health department has started giving booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccines.

Oathout stated that they have all three vaccines – Pfizer, Moderna, and Johnson and Johnson – available for booster shots. She added that they will be holding separate clinics for the Moderna booster as it is at a lower dose than the first two shots. (Both Pfizer and the Johnson and Johson boosters are at the same dosage.)
