Barber and Fuhrhop retire from RBI

HELD RETIREMENT PARTY–RBI long time employees Tom Barber and David Fuhrhop recently retired. A party was held in their honor on April 25. Pictured at the party are: Anette and Tom Barber, Kalin and Kathy Liefer, David Fuhrhop and Tracy Russo.

Recently, Red Bud Industries said goodbye to two longtime employees, Tom Barber and David Fuhrhop. Collectively, they had over 50 years of dedicated service to Red Bud Industries.

Barber retired on February 25. He started at RBI in September 2000. Barber has worked at a number of different positions over the years including assembly, maintenance, saw and drill. Most recently, he operated one of the largest machines in the building, the G & L Mill. RBI’s large parts still require precision, and RBI relied on Barber to make sure those large parts were ready for production. RBI will miss his skillset, work ethic and his great attitude.

Fuhrhop retired on April 14. He began at RBI in October 1994, in the drafting department where he worked his entire career. Fuhrhop has seen a lot of change with the technology in his field of expertise, and always learned and adapted to be able to utilize it as needed. What started as 2D drawings by pencil on paper, evolved to complex computer generated 3D models of not only just parts, but complete machine assemblies with thousands of parts. Whatever needed to be drawn or documented, he has done it; part drawings, machine drawings, hydraulic and electrical schematics, complete line layout drawings, and foundation and detail drawings as well.
