Several Red Bud residents had received high water bills recently and the matter was brought to the city council’s attention at their meeting on Nov. 3.
In public comments at the start of the meeting Matt Wagner addressed the council. Wagner, who resides on Flint Street, told the council that he had an issue with his bill and found “dozens of others have as well,” saying that their water meters were “incorrectly read or incorrectly estimated.”
He continued, stating that upon receiving their bills, these people were shocked to see they were “billed $800, $1,000, $1,200 or more in a single monthly billing.”
