At 3:14 a.m. on June 22, a Sauget police officer observed a white Ford F350 flatbed pickup truck that matched the description of the TMW truck that had been stolen from Hi-Way Motors in Red Bud early in the morning of June 16.
The officer attempted to stop the truck, but the driver refused and a pursuit ensued.
During the pursuit, dispatch advised that the driver was possibly armed and was also a suspect for a burglary at a gun store in Pontoon Beach.
The pursuit finally ended in St. Louis when the vehicle entered a yard and struck a residence. The driver fled on foot behind the residence. A K9 unit was called in and the driver was found.
