SJL’s ball teams are state bound

HEADED TO STATE–St. John’s Lutheran School’s baseball team captured the SIJHSSA Region 4 championship and are headed to state with a record of 17-5. They will play on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 1:30 p.m. in Coulterville. Team members are: in front: Brody Rahn, Colton Albert, Sutton Jones, Liam Kilpatrick, Easton Ruebusch, Maverick Cowell and Henry Sachtleben; in back: Cartr Hartmann, Brayden McCarthy, Colby Hartmann, Blaine Rohlfing, Carson Moll, Lyle Schlueter, Jack Sachtleben, Austin Stellhorn and Max Voss. The team is coached by Nathan McCarthy, Barry Albert, Mark Ruebusch and Jared Horrell.

REGIONAL CHAMPS–St. John’s Lutheran School’s softball team captured the SIJHSSA Region 4 championship and are headed to state with a record of 14-4. They will play on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 9:30 a.m. in Coulterville. Team members are: in front: Maybre Falkenhain, Allie Sieber, Tessa Stenzel, Ella Cowell and Kenadee Crafton; in the middle: Cassidy Palm, Elle Sutton, Colae Kaiser, Alexa Cheek and Amelia Cheek; in back: Coach Val Crafton Sophia Zeiger, Aubrey Kiefer, Layla Kilpatrick, Payton Liefer, Lucy Kuehn, Emma Guebert and Coach Jenn Falkenhain.
