School board says farewell to Stenzel

THANKED FOR SERVICE–Rick Stenzel, at left, was thanked for his 36 years of service on the board at the Red Bud Board of Education meeting last week. Pictured presenting him with a plaque is Board President Todd Birkner.

On March 20, the Red Bud Board of Education said farewell to longtime board member, Rick Stenzel.

Stenzel had opted not to seek reelection this year and was retiring off of the school board, with that night’s meeting as his last official board meeting.

With many of Stenzel’s family and friends in attendance, Board President Todd Birkner told Stenzel that the board appreciated all that he’s done for the board over many years of serving on it.

Birkner also personally thanked Stenzel for taking him “under his wing” and helping when he first became a board member.
