Rodney Nevois is Red Bud’s newest alderman

ADMINISTERING OATH OF OFFICE–Red Bud City Clerk Joanne Cowell is pictured administering the oath of office to Rodney Nevois during the Red Bud council meeting on Monday night. Nevois is taking the Ward 3 alderman position formerly held by David Friess.

Welcoming a new alderman onto the council and technology upgrades were the biggest items at Monday night’s Red Bud city council meeting.

As Ward 3 Alderman David Friess was recently elected as a state representative, requiring him to resign from the council, his replacement was announced at the end of Monday night’s meeting. Mayor Tim Lowry noted that Rodney Nevois had reached out, expressing interest.

Lowry continued, adding that Nevois “has a substantial background with the city,” in addition to serving on various committees. “I feel he would be a good choice.”

The other members of the council agreed with the appointment of Nevois to the council and welcomed him.

Nevois was then given his oath of office and took his place as a Ward 3 alderman.
