On the morning of June 26, a ribbon cutting was held for the grand opening of the Community Closet. Located at 425 West Market Street in Red Bud, Community Closet is owned by John and Stephanie Hanner. The store is a second hand/resale shop, with lots of new items being put out on the shelves each day. The store is an LLC, not a non-profit, but the Hanners note that their goal is that once they start making profit, they will use those funds to pay off outstanding lunch accounts at the local schools. (And in the future, if they can, they will look into giving to other causes.) Store hours are 9-5 on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday; 12-7 on Thursday; and 10-3 on Sunday. They also have a free food pantry located out front that is available to all 24/7. For more information, check out their Facebook page.
