At the meeting to share more information on the topic was Kay Clements, a board member and active volunteer with the Violence Prevention Center of Southwestern Illinois.

She shared that she became a member of the group around 25 years ago, following the death of her daughter due to domestic violence. Clements specializes in doing outreach and speaking to high school students about domestic violence, and has visited with students at several local schools.
