RBHS held commencement Friday

TOP OF THEIR CLASS–The Red Bud High School Class of 2021 had one salutatorian and five valedictorians. They were: valedictorians Mackenzie Hahn, Merideth Whelan, Dylan Roscow, Avery Piel and Ethan Fritsche, and salutatorian Nicole Boyke.

On Friday, May 21, Red Bud High School held their commencement ceremony with 96 students receiving their diplomas.

This graduation was the first for Principal Alan Guehne, who noted that while the pandemic may have stopped some things, he wanted to focus on the things the students were able to do this past year.

“They were able to go to school despite,” he stated, adding that many of the students’ peers at other schools could not. Guehne said that the students at Red Bud High School came back to school this past fall wearing masks and a smile on their faces. And with the efforts of the students and the help of the community, the school year was a success.

Guehne thanked them, as well as the community, the school board, teachers, staff, parents and families, and the community for all that they have done.

Class Vice President Jordyn Mulherin gave the welcome for the evening, thanking all for coming and their help over the past four years. “We couldn’t have done it without you,” she said.
