Next weekend the Phantom Festival returns to Prairie du Rocher.
The Phantom Funeral is one of many fascinating stories out of Prairie du Rocher’s 300+ year history. Those not familiar with the story are welcome to come check it out at the village’s Phantom Festival to be held on Friday, July 4.
The day will kick off with lots of activities to do at the Creole House grounds starting at 3 p.m.
There will be a horse drawn trolley providing rides around town, food, entertainment including fire poi, tarot readings, paranormal investigators, vendors, book signings by Troy Taylor and featured items from his American Oddities Museum, kettle corn, a scavenger “haunt” and more. (Taylor is an occultist, supernatural historian and the author of 73 books on ghosts, hauntings, history, crime and the unexplained in America.)
