The Red Bud Musketeers improved to 3-2 on the season with a spanking of the Sparta Bulldogs in a rare Thursday night homecoming game last week. Due to inclement weather predicted for last Friday, the game was proactively moved up a day to Thursday to avoid the deluge.

The game began with Red Bud kicking to the Dogs and stopping them on their first possession of the game. After a short punt by the visitors, the Musketeers moved the ball into the Sparta red zone and scored on a nine yard run by Gavin Baldwin. Brayden Koester kicked the PAT to make it 7-0 just nine minutes into the contest. The Bulldogs answered with a 70 yard touchdown pass play, but were unable to complete the two-point conversion making it 7-6.
