The Red Bud Musketeers finished the 2025 campaign Friday night in Jackson, MO battling the Saxony Lutheran Crusaders.
The first quarter saw Saxony jump out to a big lead early, a bad habit the Musketeers have developed this season; spotting their opponent an early lead before settling down for the contest. The Crusaders scored twice during the opening frame on runs of four and six yards to cap long drives that used up the clock, to go up 14-0. Red Bud took advantage of their chance to claw back when junior quarterback Landon Ruebusch connected with freshman wide receiver Carson Moll for a 70 yard touchdown pass play. Kicker Brayden Koester split the uprights to close the gap to 14-7 at the end of one quarter of play.
