Hogan is VFW’s latest Hometown Hero

The latest Hometown Hero featured in front of the Red Bud VFW Post 6632 is Technical Sergeant Arnold E. Hogan.

Hogan was a World War II veteran who went into the Marines at the age of 19, and spent his time in the Pacific at Guadalcanal, Solomon Islands. He served for three years, 1942-1945.

Following his time in the service, Hogan moved to Red Bud in 1948 and opened a jewelry store, which he ran until 1982. 

He was an active member of the VFW Post 6632 in Red Bud and had served as the sixth commander of the post. Hogan passed away on Aug. 6, 2020 at the age of 97.
