The Port of New Bourbon is considering the future of the Ste. Genevieve-Modoc Ferry and is conducting a public survey.
The Ste. Genevieve-Modoc Ferry has been in operations since 1997 and provides a direct connection between the Ste. Genevieve, MO and Randolph County, Illinois. The ferry is utilized by area tourists, truckers, farmers, industries and many people commuting to jobs on both sides of the river.
Due to rising costs and regulations, the New Bourbon Regional Port Authority is considering permanent closure of the Ste. Genevieve-Modoc Ferry without increased funding assistance.
