The Community Foundation of Randolph County has joined with the Randolph County Historical Society to help with repairs and upgrades to Charter Oak School (COS).
Located near Schuline, Charter Oak School is one of only three eight-sided, one-room schoolhouses left in America. Built in 1873, COS was the foundation of education for hundreds of children until school consolidation closed the historic landmark in 1953. The building and surrounding grounds have been the site of numerous events over the years including the Annual Randolph County Corn Fest.
