STORM DAMAGE–Craig Wilson shared these pictures following the storm on Aug. 25. Above, linemen worked late into the night to replace the broken transmission pole. This broken pole, located near Griggs and Ralls Ridge Roads, was the cause of the power outage. Below, are just some of the trees on Wilson’s property that were damaged by the winds. Numerous people in the Prairie and Griggs area reported tree damage.
A brief, pop up storm last Friday afternoon caused significant damage and power outages in the local area.
Red Bud City Superintendent, Josh Eckart issued the following press release concerning the power outage in the city:
“The City of Red Bud experienced a city-wide electric outage, sometimes referred to as a ‘blackout,’ on Friday, Aug. 25 at approximately 4 p.m. due to a storm that passed through the area.”
