TORNADO DAMAGE–Randolph County EMA Director Lyn Thies shared this picture of the tornado damage to a home and property located on Ridge Road near Baldwin.
It may have been a beautiful day most of the day Sunday for people to celebrate Easter, however that evening severe storms swept though the local area, bringing a few tornadoes.
In their initial storm reports, the U.S. National Weather Service out of St. Louis noted a total of seven tornadoes in their coverage area. This included one in Randolph County, two in Monroe County and one in St. Clair County.
Thankfully, there were no injuries or fatalities reported.
In Randolph County, NWS stated that from 8:25 to 8:26 p.m., a weak EF1 tornado developed near Baldwin Road and tracked northeast for 1.32 miles. Its maximum width was 75 yards. Randolph County EMA Coordinator Lyn Thies reported that there was damage to one residence, one grain bin and two small utility trailers. The rest was tree damage.
