This week, on Monday, Aug. 2, Randolph County Health Department Administrator Angela Oathout reported a COVID-19 related death.
The last death in the county had been reported on May 25, and this death was the 88th for Randolph County since the pandemic began.
Oathout also reported that the number of active COVID-19 cases is continuing to increase. Between July 28 and Aug. 2, there was a total of 50 new cases reported.
The total number of active cases on Aug. 2 came in at 64, with three individuals hospitalized. Overall, there has been a total of 4,411 confirmed positive cases in Randolph County.
