Contracts for Red Bud’s splash pad project approved Monday

CELEBRATE GIRL SCOUT WEEK–At Monday night’s council meeting, Red Bud Mayor Susan Harbaugh signed a proclamation declaring the week of March 10-16 as Girl Scout Week. Several Girl Scouts from troops in Service Unit 57 – Randolph County North were in attendance at the meeting and are pictured with the city council.

It was a short meeting Monday night for the Red Bud City Council, but they took a moment to approve contracts for the Ratz Park revitalization project, say farewell to a long time city employee and to recognize Girl Scout Week.

The Ratz Park revitalization project, with the biggest part being the addition of a splash pad, has been in the works for awhile now.

Last year, the city went out for bid on the project, but when bids were opened on Oct. 4, 2023, there was only one bid. It was recommended that the city put the project out for bid again, reformatting the bid from a lump sum into individual items.
