Randolph County’s circuit court has recently received some major updates thanks to a technology grant. Circuit Judge Jeremy Walker and Circuit Clerk Julie Carnahan were happy to talk to the media about what’s new.

The county was awarded several technology/modernization grants from the Administrative Office of the Illinois Courts (AOIC). Since 2023, Randolph County has received $750,984.26 in total funds.

The grant is being used to modernize both of the county’s courtrooms. So far, most of the work has been completed in Walker’s courtroom, and work will soon start in Judge Gene Gross’ room.

One of the most noticeable differences is that the courtroom has additional screens and cameras, as well as a projector.
