by Ryker Papenberg

The boys golf team ended regular season play on a high note this past week, racking up a season long record of 15-6. This is by far the best record for the program in several years. Coach Quigley can take solace in this accomplishment despite the team not accomplishing their goal of conference champions.

Last Monday, the team traveled to Belk Park Golf Course in Wood River for a quad-match against East-Alton Wood River, Mascoutah, and Roxanna. Ryker Papenberg and Cooper DeSpain each carded a 39 for the team’s top scores. Kruz Koester and Jack Muench rounded out the team score shooting a 41 and 44, respectively. With a team score of 163, Red Bud claimed its 12th and 13th win for the season by taking down East-Alton Wood River (231) and Roxanna (194).Mascoutah captured the match win with a low score 153.
