Lady Musketeers start 3-0
TOURNAMENT CHAMPIONS–The varsity team opened its season at the annual Sparta Invitational last week. Red Bud played Chester for the championship title and defeated the Lady Yellow Jackets 55-53. The Lady Musketeers traveled to Sparta for the Bulldog Invitational last week where they started off their season with a 3-0 record, and a first place trophy.
Their week started on Monday with a game against New Athens. The Musketeers came out eager and ready to go and held New Athens scoreless until there were 30 seconds left in the first quarter. They kept up this same energy and went into halftime leading 48-10. Ava Wagner led the scoring at the half with 13 points followed by Lyla Hess with 11, Addi Dilley eight, Olivia Geralds and Emma Carter five apiece, Jeda Friess four and Lilly Minemann two points.
