Dale Volle of Chester has recently announced his intent to run as a Republican candidate for Randolph County sheriff in 2022.
Volle has an extensive law and military background, which he feels makes him a great candidate for the position.
Originally from Chester, he graduated from Chester High School in 1972 then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served with the Marines for six years, in positions including infantry small unit leader, security forces and recruiter.
Following an honorable discharge from active duty, he attended Southern Illinois University Carbondale, where he earned an associates degree in law enforcement and a bachelors degree with emphasis in police administration. He later earned a masters degree in public administration from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville.
