Very low voter turnout reported on Tuesday

Despite only 10 percent voter turnout across Randolph County on Tuesday, some important local races were still decided, and now three local communities all have new village presidents.

For Prairie du Rocher, Mark Wilson defeated both James Popejoy and David “Rudy” Mollet to become village president.

In Baldwin, Virgil Chandler defeated Brad Denney for the position of village president.

In Evansville, Kenneth Kempfer ran unopposed for village president.

Another big race was for the Red Bud Community Unit School District. Winning the four spots on the board were: Carol Harms, Abigail Carter, Todd Birkner and Rick Stenzel; defeating Cheri Lange, Amy Wolter and Ben Schwartzkopf.
