The Lady Musketeer’s varsity softball team came into last week head first with a big win over the Belleville West Maroons 20-7.
The team started off down after West scored three runs in the second inning and two runs in the third inning, but Red Bud pulled away for good with eight runs in the fourth inning. They continued putting runs on the board in the fifth inning. The Lady Musketeers had big bats, racking 21 hits for the night. At the plate, Lyla Hess led the team with four hits and four RBIs. Pitching for the night was Olivia Geralds with four strikeouts. She was eventually relieved by Hess in the seventh inning out of the bullpen.
