Trial date for Porter pushed back to January

As of the afternoon of Monday, Sept. 18, the trial date for Shawn Porter has been pushed back until January.

Porter, 48, of Red Bud, is facing a first degree murder charge, and his trial was originally scheduled for October of this year. Porter is alleged to have poured an unknown combustible fluid onto Donald “Ennie” F. Steibel, 76, of Red Bud, during a dispute on June 21. Steibel suffered serious injuries from the incident and later passed away.
