A comet, known as A3, has recently been visible to the naked eye for those in the Northern Hemisphere. While it was closest to earth on Oct. 12, NASA expects the comet to still be somewhat visible until Oct. 26. To see the comet, it is recommended to look west-southwest in the evening. Frank Melliere snapped this picture of the comet on the evening of Oct. 14 from the Modoc Road hill area.
