This Sunday, June 8, a special mass will be held in honor of Msgr. Dennis Schaefer at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud.
The service will be held at 2:30 p.m. and is in celebration of his 50th jubilee as a priest/ ordination anniversary.
Schaefer reflected that the celebration will be exactly 50 years, as he was ordained on June 7, 1975 and held his first mass the next day on June 8.
Since then, Schaefer has served many parishes and dedicated his life to serving others.
