A proposed change to an already approved solar project drew in several people to comment at the March 17 Randolph County Board of Commissioners meeting.
Last year, in August, the zoning board of appeals held a hearing to discuss the proposed 150 megawatt solar project on approximately 1,200 acres near Tilden. A large crowd came to the meeting, with some in favor and some opposed, but the zoning board unanimously approved of recommending the project.
Then at the Sept. 30, 2022 board of commissioners meeting, quite a crowd attended again to voice their thoughts on the project. The commissioners though sided with the zoning board’s recommendation and approved of the project.
