PASSING THROUGH–This solar car was pictured passing through Red Bud on June 27. This Sunday, a lot more solar cars will be passing through as teams of college students follow State Route 3 as part of their route in the American Solar Challenge.
Not too long ago, a lone solar car was spotted traveling through Red Bud. This weekend, there will be more passing through.
The American Solar Challenge, organized by Innovators Educational Foundation, is holding their cross-country solar car event.
The 1,500+ mile route will be following portions of the seven Historic National Trails from Nashville, TN to Casper, WY from July 16-27. And the path has them following State Route 3 through the local area.
