THEN AND NOW–Pictured above is the Red Bud IGA when it opened in 1995 and below how it looks today.
“I thought it was a miracle to own and operate a market in this beautiful town,” said T.J. Norrenberns on having opened the Red Bud IGA 30 years ago.
Norrenberns purchased the former Schmitt’s Tom Boy grocery store and credits some good friends and connections here in Red Bud with helping him do so.
“I was just a limited guy with limited resources,” he said. “But they knew I was worth the risk.”
And under Norrenberns’ ownership, the store thrived. So much so that in the summer of 1998, he expanded the store.
