Red Bud Fire Department receives new picnic signs

NEW SIGNS–The Red Bud Fire Department has some beautiful new signs to put at the entrances of town to advertise the dates of the Firemen’s Picnic each year. The sign was made by the industrial arts classes at Red Bud High School with material donated by UltraSite. Pictured with one of the signs are: UltraSite General Manager Mike Moll, Fireman Clinton Guebert, teacher Jared Piel and students Josh Nieweglowski and Peyton LaChance.

A project that was a collaboration between the high school industrial arts classes and a local business, to create something for the fire department, has finally been completed.

Back in 2020, prior to the pandemic, Red Bud Fireman Clinton Guebert approached Red Bud High School industrial arts teacher Jared Piel with an idea. Piel then took that idea to his classes.

The idea evolved into a set of four large steel signs, one for each entrance to town, to advertise the annual Firemen’s Picnic in June. This also included a set of interchangeable numbers, so that the dates for the picnic on the signs can be updated each year.
