Sports officials for games at Red Bud Elementary will soon be getting paid more, after the school board approved of increasing the rate of officials’ pay at their meeting on Dec. 29.
RBES Athletic Director Brock Quigley gave a presentation to the board, explaining the need for an increase in the pay rate for IHSA officials.
He noted that he spoke with officials and found the school wasn’t as competitive as it used to be with pay. And because of this, they are losing out on some officials who opt to go to schools that offer more.
