The Red Bud City Council held a brief meeting on Monday night, with not much on the evening’s agenda.
From the finance committee, the council approved of terminating the current city hall cleaning contract with Jani-King.
City Administrative Officer Jill Landgraf noted that she wanted to terminate the contract, which expires at the end of September, with the last cleaning being on Sept. 21. She was wanting to go with another service.
At last month’s committee meetings, Landgraf had elaborated that they were being serviced by Jani-King’s St. Louis office and had thought that maybe they should use a local company. At that time she had already gathered a few quotes.
She just needed to know from the council if they wanted to terminate the contract and switch to another company so that she could give 30 days notice.
