Pritzker signed wide variety of bills into law last week

On Friday, July 28, Illinois Governor JB Pritzker signed approximately 130 bills spanning a wide variety of issues into law. Many won’t go into effect until next year, however some went into effect immediately.

Notably among the many bills signed were:

HB0439 which requires the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services (DCFS) to develop a strategic plan that would improve access to quality in-state residential treatment, evidence-based alternatives to residential treatment, and specialized foster care for youth in the care of the department. Effective Jan. 1, 2024.
