The Phantom Funeral is one of many fascinating stories out of Prairie du Rocher’s nearly 300 year history. Those not familiar with the story are welcome to come check it out at the village’s Phantom Festival to be held this weekend on July 10.
This festival is just one of many ways that the Village of Prairie du Rocher is preparing for their 300th anniversary to be celebrated next year.
The day will kick off with a 5K run/fun run at 8 a.m. To register for the 5K, visit www.runsignup.com/Race/IL/PrairieDuRocher/Phantom5KandFunRun.
Then, from 2 to 6 p.m., there will be a variety of activities around town. A trolley will be available throughout the day to take festival goers to the various locations so that they can enjoy live music, jukebox bingo, storytelling, shopping, food and more.
