This week, Randolph County Chief Deputy Jarrod Peters announced that he is seeking the Republican nomination for county sheriff in 2022.

In his announcement he stated:

“I am excited to announce that I am seeking the Republican nomination for Randolph County Sheriff in the 2022 election. I am a lifelong resident of Randolph County and have been employed as a law enforcement officer in Randolph County for the past 17 years.

I am a 1999 graduate of Chester High School. I attended Southwestern Illinois College in Belleville, where I attained my associates of arts degree. I graduated from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville in 2003 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice.

I returned back to my roots, in Randolph County to begin my lifelong dream of becoming a law enforcement officer and serving my community.
