A change in the bulk water rate and an update on the sewer repairs were the biggest topics of discussion at the Evansville Board meeting on Monday night.
Listed on the evening’s agenda was a proposal to increase the bulk water rate from 50 cents for 100 gallons to 75 cents.
Village President Kenny Kempfer explained that the village has been charging the same rate for bulk water as they charge for household water sales, however bulk water costs the village more. This includes the costs of power and running the pumps. “We’re losing money selling bulk at the same rate.” So he suggested raising it to at least 75 cents.
