Musketeers stay hot

by Trent Sternberg

Red Bud hosted Waterloo in a battle between two Route 3 teams on March 31. The Musketeers rallied early in the game, putting up three runs in the first two innings. The highlight of these first few innings was Lucas Schwartzkopf’s towering two-run home run. In the top of the third inning, Waterloo showed signs of life and scored three runs of their own, evening the score at 3-3. Red Bud then answered with three more runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning.

The 6-3 lead for the Musketeers held until the sixth when Waterloo retied the game at six apiece. Red Bud, playing strong all game, pushed a run across in the bottom of the sixth, which was crucial as Waterloo tied it once again in the top of the seventh.
