The boys team competed at the Woodlands golf course in Alton on Aug. 20 as the only 1A school in the 24 team field of the Alton Redbird Tee Off Classic. Over the challenging 18 hole course, the Musketeers finished 14th overcoming schools such as Quincy, Alton, Sacred Heart, Herrin, Centralia, Jerseyville, Springfield, Granite City, and Triad by shooting a 335. Top counting scores included, Kruz Koester with an 80, Jack Muench 83, Cooper DeSpain 85, and Lane Diewald 87.
On Wednesday the Musketeers hosted their first home match of the year by taking on Chester at North County Country Club. The Musketeers fired a 157 over the nine holes to overcome Chester’s 174. Red Bud’s Cooper DeSpain led the field with a one over 36. Rounding out the other Red Bud counting scores were Lane Diewald with a 38, Jack Muench 40, and Lucas McCarthy 43.
