On the evening of Nov. 3, a small crowd gathered in the third floor lounge of the Randolph County Courthouse for a town hall style, informational meeting about the The Safety, Accountability, Fairness and Equity-Today (SAFE-T) Act.
The meeting was put on by Randolph County State’s Attorney Jeremy Walker, Acting Sheriff Jarrod Peters, Randolph County Circuit Clerk Julie Carnahan, State Representative David Friess and State Senator Terri Bryant, as a way of sharing information about this act and answer questions from the public, prior to it going into effect on Jan. 1, 2023.
