Red Bud lost a long time business owner last week with the passing of Ronald E. Whelan.
Whelan, 80, passed away on Dec. 26.
He had been the owner of Whelan Builders in Red Bud for 49 years. He also served for 35 years on the rural fire board.
The funeral was held on Dec. 31 at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Scott Hojnacki officiating.
