Locals help Nashville flood victims

When a disaster strikes, action is needed to help those who are involved as soon as possible. The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod Southern Illinois District has a disaster response program to assist with disasters.

After the Nashville, IL area was hit with flooding, action was taken within days. Members of the Sow and Grow Lutheran Womens Missionary League, with the help of Mary Hamilton of Red Bud, organized a shopping spree for the cleaning supplies required to fill 50 five-gallon flood buckets. Shopping was done on Sunday afternoon, July 21, and the supplies were filled into the buckets on Tuesday evening. The buckets were delivered to Nashville on July 24, so volunteers could begin cleaning the next day.
