RETAILER OF THE YEAR–The Illinois Retail Merchants Association (IRMA) recently recognized Groceries of Southern Illinois, which is headquartered in Columbia, as their Retailer of the Year. Metro-area entrepreneur Joe Koppeis and Groceries of Southern Illinois have been honored by the Illinois Retail Merchants Association (IRMA) as the 2022 Illinois Retailer of the Year. Koppeis and his wife, Patty Koppeis, were joined by several associates to receive the award at the IRMA’s annual meeting in Chicago.
“It is an honor to be recognized alongside my family and employees, without whom this business would not be where it is today,” said Koppeis. “Together, we work hard for the people of southern Illinois, not just through access to groceries and other resources, but by striving to provide solid jobs and improve the livelihoods of those who live here.”
